Educan: External Reviewer Sign In

Signing into Educan as an External Reviewer:

External Reviewer includes District-Based Mentors, Cooperating Teachers, and other outside evaluators.

Note: External Reviewers are not part of the university's Microsoft directory, so they will need to sign in with an email and password that belongs to the portal itself. 


  • First-time setup for External Reviewers
    • The School of Education will need to add you into the Educan Portal, and the system will email you a five-digit access code.
    • Once you have received this code, you will click on Register for Access on the Educan sign-in page (https://educan.ucumberlands.edu/).

    • Enter your first name, last name, and email address exactly as they were registered, then the access code from your email.
    • Create a password. 
      • Your password must be at least 8 characters and contain at least one number, one uppercase letter, and one lowercase letter.
    • Submit the form. 
      • Note: The confirmation screen shows your account email address and password. Save your portal credentials before you navigate away.


  • Signing in as an External Reviewer
    • On the portal's login page, click External Reviewer/District-Based Mentor Sign In.

    • Enter your registered email address and password and then click the External Reviewer Sign In button.

    • You should now see your Educan home page.


Password Reset for External Reviewers:

  • Select Forgot Password? on the sign-in page and enter your registered email address.

  • Reset instructions will be sent to this registered email.
